We are proud to announce the successful grid connection of the Wolong-ATB Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Baotao Weijun, Inner Mongolia. This landmark 200MW/1200MWh installation marks a major step forward in network storage capabilities and reinforces our commitment to driving Mongolia’s renewable energy transition.

Network storage capabilities are accelerating the green energy transformation of Mongolia’s energy landscape. The Wolong Wei Jun grid-side independent energy storage demonstration project has officially been connected to the grid.

System Components: 240 battery containers, each rated at 5.015 MWh, paired with 30 PCS medium-voltage skids of 6.67 MW each.

Application: A 6-hour storage BESS system, fully integrated into our company’s wind-solar-hydrogen-energy storage strategy in Mengxi.

The entire project leverages Wolong’s proprietary, in-house developed technology. The network-based liquid-cooled energy storage system features fully independently controllable hardware and software, ensuring complete self-reliance and operational security.

Infrastructure and Grid Integration:
The project includes a newly constructed 220 kV step-up substation, with a zoned grid-connection architecture that simplifies operation, maintenance, and future capacity expansion. The facility will play a vital role in peak-load regulation, frequency control, and emergency grid support. It will significantly enhance green electricity absorption, delay the need for grid infrastructure upgrades, and serve as a benchmark for energy storage development in northern cold regions – while contributing directly to the growth of local renewable energy.
